Frauen als Gladiatorinnen?
Es gibt eine kryptische Andeutung von Iuvenal, als ob das bekannt sei: "Warum muss ich von der Endromis (Schienbeinschutz der Gladiatoren) und dem Ringeröl der Frauen erzählen? Wer hat sie nicht gesehen... trainiert für die echte Arena ... eine Frau, die einen Helm trägt ... und sich am Kräftemessen erfreut?"
Ob das Training oder Kämpfe (und in welchem Kontext) waren und überhaupt stimmt (Satire!), ist unklar.
