I think one of the reasons I struggle with productivity software (todo lists, task trackers, etc.) is that I don't understand the mental model of the people that built it and/or their usage patterns for engaging with the software
Often when I'm learning how to do something I'm trying to understand the constraints of the system and the reasons that we use the techniques we use. But most of these tools seem to be built around usage patterns and philosophies that aren't articulated to the user
