I recently broke with learning Japanese to try learning some Chinese. It's not that I don't love Japanese—I still do. But I feel like to appreciate the Japanese writing system, it would do me good to also understand how to write in Chinese.
Additionally, a large sum of AI papers are written in Chinese and never translated. Of all the languages I could learn that will open doors in the future and unlock vast sums of knowledge, Chinese is it!
