Possible long Covid:
18 Months ago I was briefly hospitalized with Afib and congestive heart failure. This occurred less than 2 months after a covid infection. I kept asking my doctors, "Could it be covid?" They always say, "No, you are old and fat and ruined your heart."
After leaving the hospital, I lost 35 pounds (in less than 3 months) and have not had any issues since. Until a strange incident these past 2 weeks.
I got some kind of head cold thing (stuffy nose, sore throat, dry cough). It was probably infectious as my partner had similar symptoms after me, she tested negative for covid. My symptoms didn't put me in bed or anything, just irritating mostly.
While not feeling well, my weight (which I monitor everyday) started to inch up. On Saturday my weight shot up by almost 5 pounds. I took a torsemide pill (which is supposed to remove excess body fluids) and the next day my weight was down -- you guessed it -- 5 pounds.
My theory is that my covid infection caused me to gain 30+ pounds (I was not weighing myself at the time) in excess fluids. This got into my heart and lungs, looking like CHF and causing Afib. But again, the doctors say, "No."
Thanks for listening. Any ideas are welcome.
