This week I read "The War of the Worlds", H. G. Wells' 1897 classic. While we all know the general story, the book is worth the read, especially since you can get it FREE if you have a Kindle.

It was very interesting to me to read the original and think of what the future looked like from that perspective- the mechanical, seemingly steam-driven machines of the Martians. The deeper personal interaction than we got in the movies. Go read it again (or for the first time).
