So most economic models try to build out a fictional “economy” starting with fictional people. This methodology is called “Methodological individualism” [1].
The problem is they generally don’t get very far, their weird fictional societies are very simplistic. And then Ha-Joon Chang mentioned another economist who pointed out that what happens *inside* a company/organization generally isn’t modeled by their models.
But that most activity in the “real market” happens inside of organizations. And that inside of organizations things work completely differently than in the so called “free market”.
Inside a company it is possible to argue that you are running a Planned Economy 😱
