I feel I sometimes go off the deep end investigating structures. I wanted to see if I could make the old 1985 phantasie map more modern. I used imagemagick to break the original map into 10x10 pixel tiles. Then I wrote a script to make sha256 hashes of each tile, then mapped each tile to 1 ascii character (see 2nd image). Then I wrote a script to read the ascii map and print out its x-y coordinates and mapped each ascii character to a text srting like "mountain" or "water". Pushed the resulting text file into @kensanata online map tool to generate a new square and hex map representation of the old map (see 3rd and 4th image).
