Where I grew up the adults at school talked about our futures as supermarket tellers and kindergarten teachers.
Aside: The kids, who I don’t think ever really liked me (I was the kid who read too many books and wanted to talk about philosophy and the universe), might’ve actually respected me a bit, since when they mocked me they called me “the lawyer” and said I would be the prime minister when I grew up. Funny how the bullies expected more of me than my teachers.
Anyway, based on where I grew up, I feel incredibly successful in life. Tbh the bar wasn’t too high, but it sure felt high to me.
But looking at these Yale courses… this is a whole other level.
