Back in the day, Python 2 had a more JavaScript attitude of the default Keys give you what the default Keys give you
$ python2 -c 'print(sorted([None, 3, 50, 100, "pdfa", "pdfb"]))'
[None, 3, 50, 100, 'pdfa', 'pdfb']
$
Python 3 forces you to choose a Key, when you mix datatypes
$ python3 -c 'print(sorted([None, 3, 50, 100, "pdfa", "pdfb"]))'
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "<string>", line 1, in <module>
TypeError: '<' not supported between instances of 'int' and 'NoneType'
