Why do companies get to bang the drum on time & attendance without paying mileage?
You expect me to put my work uniform on during my personal hours, depreciate my personal vehicle, and sacrifice my personal time and sleep, when you don’t even pay me a living wage? Give me a fucking break, or at least pay for my goddamn gasoline.
The opportunity cost of showing up >30 minutes early to work is prohibitive, especially when you have chronic health issues or pain. Then, when the commute is >1 hr, I start to question what benefit there is to the job at all.
I guess I’m in a “fuck you, pay me” kind of mood lately.
