#LongCovid symptoms have been slightly reduced of late. Working on the sheet music for the Cliff Edwards Project has been engaging, entertaining and something I could concentrate on quite successfully, so although I've still been very tired my mood has improved and I've felt a little closer to "normal".
Now that I've reached the difficult tunes—the ones with incomplete information, no published sheet music, low quality recordings etc—there has been a dramatic shift. The extra focus and effort required to deal with those songs had made it all very much like actual work; suddenly I'm too exhausted to carry on, unable to type a sentence without multiple errors, losing track of my progress, feeling heavy and unhappy. It's an unwelcome glimpse and where I may well be when this period of sick leave is over.
Still, the great thing with this project is that it has no demands or timetable other than those I choose to impose, so stepping away for a while is easy. Time for a cuppa.
