Back in time - September 2019
St. Aidan's Church, Bamburgh, Northumbria an Anglican parish church with a rich history dating back to the 7th century.
Initially, the church served as a monastic site. St. Aidan established a monastery at Bamburgh, which became a center for missionary work and Christian learning.
Recently discovered in the churchyard, the Bamburgh Ossuary contains the remains of over a hundred individuals, believed to date back to the early medieval period.
