Where did it say, “Your ideas will be most impactful if your exposition is constantly interrupted by pitches for leaf guards for your gutter?”
If you submitted an essay with that many irrelevant non-sequiturs, you’d get an F. There is no reason to treat ad-encrusted blog posts and media articles differently.
