A coastal landscape of the Côte de Granit rose, Brittany. In the foreground is a fence made of irregularly and partly diagonally lying narrow, light-coloured rounded timbers, which are loosely attached to each other. Behind it begins a stretch of coast with rough grass and a slightly pinkish shimmering rocky landscape with a square lighthouse, also made of this rock, in the rear right half of the picture. To the left, the white foamy sea of the English Channel laps against the coast. In the background, the sunny light blue sky meets the horizon, where two small rocky islands can also be vaguely seen. Deutsch: Eine Küstenlandschaft der Côte de Granit rose, Bretagne. Im Vordergrund befindet sich ein Zaun aus unregelmäßig und z.T. schräg liegenden schmalen hellen Rundhölzern, die lose aneinander befestigt sind.Dahinter beginnt ein Küstenabschnitt mit mit rauem Gras und einer leicht rosa schimmernden Felslandschaft mit einem ebenfalls aus diesem Gestein gebauten viereckigen Leuchtturm in der hinteren rechten Bildhälfte. Links davon brandet das Meer des Ärmelkanals weiß schaumig an die Küste. Im Hintergrund treffen sich der sonnige hellblaue Himmel am Horizont, wo außerdem vage zwei felsige kleine Inseln zu sehen sind.
