TIL The full name of the user, which is displayed on the Action Buttons plugin in the xfce4-panel, is read from the comment field of a user in /etc/passwd. It can be changed in OpenBSD with
usermod -c "Full Name" user
My last name contains a German umlaut and I was wondering for weeks now why xfce displays it on the panel with a "?" in a solid caret instead of the umlaut. I entered my name during installation and it was written with the "?" into /etc/passwd.
