Waaait a minute. All this time I've been thinking of the concept of a #TTRPG gaming table as a special (expensive) product with a recessed lower area for the game, that you can cover up with panels when you're done. These are very expensive.
BUT! What if you instead cut a sheet of wood to be about 6" smaller than your dining/kitchen table, sand it ultra smooth then paint it a neutral colour with a grid?
Then it sits on blocks raised UP! Your character sheets can sit partially under. 😱
