instead of writing server and process statuses to a slack channel, write it to an RSS feed instead.
This way anyone who wants the updates, they can get them by subscribing to the feed. Also, since it’s just xml, it’s super easy to write a script to surface important statuses. The real value is this removes the dependency on Slack.
for security, the server hosting the feed’s should be behind a vpn.
