I’m old enough to remember prior to 2016 that one presidential election was barely over before the media started squawking around the possible contenders for the next one. Like, there would be two full years of constant speculation based on the “rising stars” of the parties. That was problematic, yes. But, that it’s been four years of this election being down to Shitler and Waldork as an inevitability is also deeply problematic. Everybody’s been worn down for decades and now just worn out.
