Economic idiocy front and centre again.
Public capital projects should be entirely funded with public funds. Even if it means borrowing.
The simple fact is that such projects pay for themselves via economic benefits to the area & nation.
The only reason to use private finance is to fiddle the books & make it seem cheaper as the cost gets spread over more years & the govt books seem better.
Maniulpulative and economically damaging nonsense. PFI is a scam.
