Iznik Ceramic Tile (16th Century AD) - Ottoman Empire :
The horizontal procession of this single unit, outlined in orange, creates an impressive Ottoman broad border tile. Inside this trilobal shape, white bifurcated arabesque leaves, placed close to the edge of the unit on a blue ground, add depth to the design. An arabesque half-palmette also intersects the curve of the orange outline, ending in tendrils and a crown finial.
