“This juvenile platypus was captured by a local fly fisherman in Tumut who noticed strange behaviour and its inability to dive. After making sure he had no injuries, checking that his coat was waterproof, and seeing that he was successfully displaying foraging behaviours, I release him back to the river…. He was spotted again two weeks later, successfully diving.. if you come across an injured/ sick platypus to always handle them by the tail to avoid the venomous spurs..” #wildlife #nature
