In a random ramble at a friend over a cosplayer’s (a few, actually) apparent comfort with physical contact from fans, I managed to elucidate something that’s been in the back of my brain undefined until now.
There’s being/feeling secure in or about your body. And there’s feeling safe in your body.
Two very different— but related— things which can easily get conflated.
The latter being more of a confidence that you can control what happens to (and in) your body, vs confidence in general.
