Ugh, the number of people victim-blaming/suggesting taking classes or getting counselling for this.
I've had this experience, I was friendly to people and invited them to stuff just to be left out or rebuffed.
I don't know if I or the OP are autistic, but I've read accounts by so many autistics who had this exact experience and it stops me in my tracks every time. And funnily enough, the people in my life who have wanted me around have overwhelmingly been ND.
