Bank of America study shows that if you need a raise, you MUST look for a new job to get the most money & the less income you make, the more you need to do this. If you love your job but just need more cash, use the new offer as negotiating leverage, if they say no you leave and get your raise. I did this all thru out my career & people always thought i was crazy for moving around so much, but i always made 10% more than the job sites would say i was worth in a market
