I was surprised Liz Truss’s economic reforms to make the wealthy richer and the poor poorer didn’t go through in conservative UK particularly after Boris Johnson’s big win in the 2019 election. Didn’t the business lobbies (plural, there must be a myriad, like here) eg. the British equivalent of the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), maybe called the British Chamber of Commerce 110% support her? Was there no fat left in the budget to cut to fund these tax cuts?
