update, Liberty County, TX, 4:30 pm: This has to be the shortest hurricane I've been through. For the past half hour, it's looked like your average sunny day (with cool wind & not so humid). Rain's done, it seems.

Many neighbors have trees down or big chunks of limbs. I either have half a tree down behind my garage or the neighbor's tree crashed entirely over his wire fence this morning and it happened to land behind my garage. I did see where a big chunk came off, and the rest are smaller branches as debris.

I was gonna let the dogs hang out outside on the tether lines, but the wind is still blowing too hard and it's likely more limb debris will fall in the next few hours. Every major storm seems to give those trees a trim, and the split or rotting wood on the ground is in pretty big chunks.

Part of me feels foolish for missing work today, but since I wiped out my savings paying for a new transmission after underestimating the LAST major storm, I didn't wanna take chances.
