Runty little hawk checking out its toes before bed. I still am unsure how many there are. For sure there are at least three but it sure sounds like more when they all start calling to each other. I guess the parents could be adding to the ruckus but I only briefly spotted an adult once last week.
A juvenile Cooper’s hawk perches on the roof at sunset doing a little tidying up before bedtime. It’s hunched over scrutinizing its toes for we probably don’t want to know what! The setting sun is behind it softly illuminating its bloomers and a shadowy ridge line raises in the background.
