I hope work isn't too weird tonight after my bit of desperation over text yesterday. I hope we're actually on the same page. Yes, I want full time hours. No, I don't want to bounce between two brick-and-mortar jobs a vast distance apart whose priorities are so different forever (when I could nourish one from home with the time saved instead).
I'm 41 & I hate commuting, especially with 3 72-mile round trips to tutoring in a car nearly at 130K miles & no savings for a replacement. And this restaurant job (if I ever get PAID), is at least $1 more an hour (not counting tips) AND about 9.5 miles away. Even if I get a double-shift day where I go home a couple hours & come back, 2 round trips are just a hair more than the 1-way to tutoring.
For me it comes down to this:
shorter commute + better pay + time saved to earn said pay = ability to save again for emergencies or a new-old car.
Last training is Friday morning. Hopefully I get it all down right before that evening's solo shift.
