The coldest temperature I lived through was January 2019 where is was -34 F on a calibrated Scientific thermometer.
The wind chill was -55 F
Nearly everything nonessential halted for an entire week. It was miserable.
People in south prepare for hurricanes we stock up on food, beverages and entertainment for such events. I cringe thinking about it.
