There is nothing here that wouldn't have been obvious to Maud Menten in 1913, or AV Hill in the 1920s or to JBS Haldane in the 1930s, or to Jeffreys Wyman in the 1950s-60s. Yet it's too hard for most students (and for many of their teachers).
