The whole premise of #OpenAI was wrong from the start.
They said "we will practice open research and reach AGI before the for-profits."
That relied four ridiculously naïve & insanely presumptuous assumptions:
1. they were going to "reach #AGI" before anyone else (whatever U mean by AGI).
2. they were going to be able to fund the whole effort with a promise of future AGI trillions.
3. They were going to attract top people without shares in a for-profit
