♿ Overcoming ableism
Its shocking how many autistics beat themselves up for being disabled. We often deprive ourself of self patience and support as a result.
It often comes from shame: pop culture and society marginalises us for our challenges, and tells us we dont deserve acceptance or support. This hurts and is hard to overcome.
But, once liberated from this, its easier to seek support and community. It often becomes easier to understand what our needs are and how to accommodate them.
