A heartbreaking illustration of why we need to keep having the #AssistedDying debate and, with the greatest care, diligence & legal scrutiny, to change UK law. I have NHL history and am at high risk of future oesophageal cancer. I'll absolutely KNOW when I've had enough. The threat of prosecution for friends or relatives helping me to make my exit when I'm ready feels deeply immoral. We should celebrate, not criminalise, the kind and compassionate citizen.
