It was the future. AR glasses existed, but they looked a bit like old black-and-white movies.
Their home was clearly inspired by my grandmother. It was too large for them, so some of the rooms were messy. But they had a lot of wool in specific colors and patterns. I remember teal+white and red+green.
The wallpaper on one wall was like. Awful AI generated cutesy dolphins. Made for a baby room. I also read a magazine article showing off more bad AI art, so someone there thought it was fun.
