Well, after digging up gladiolus and apparently not finding them tasty, it seems our neighborhood squirrel spent time exploring my green pepper plants.
It didn't dig the plant up.
Rather it broke off one of the small green peppers, carried it to the other side of the patio, took several bites, and left the pepper on the patio.
Which I found mid-morning. I don't recall seeing the half-eaten pepper earlier in the morning.
