Yesterday I was talking about statues and stuff. Here's the one in question, it's a beauty 🤩
It's part of an identical pair that look slightly towards one another at the entrance to the Museo Arqueológico Nacional, Madrid
It's hard to get both in a good shot, and even harder to get all the details into a photo
My photo of a bronze sphinx statue in a resting position on a plinth next yo the entrance steps. The statue is of a woman's head, upper arms and torso with a helmet. It has lion's forearms, claws and body with hind legs. There's also a magnificent set of wings on the upper arms
