Just rewatched Ted Lasso, and something came together.
Rupert's team was West Ham United. They're called "the Hammers". As they had previously been Thames Ironworks FC, they're also called "the Irons", and their fans would say "Up the Irons".
That phrase is something that I, a music fan in America, associate with Iron Maiden. I hardly know anything about UK football, and most of what I know comes from Ted Lasso and Bend It Like Beckham. But I knew Steve Harris follows West Ham. 🪢
