Hey mastodon people, unsolved #maths and #geometry problem here..
The artist Piranesi used a trick to draw a kind of fake perspective that was in some ways more legible than true perspective. Mathematically it is easy to describe as a mapping between a rectangle and a trapezoid, but to be really useful it needs a full forward and reverse mapping for arbitrary quadrilaterals.
I found a hacky solution, but it sucks for practical use, surely there is a 'correct' solution?
