It's summer* in San Francisco so we went to the movies to escape the heat. Haven't done that in 20 years. The advertising hellscape that plays for 25 minutes after the nominal showtime and before the movie was a new phenomenon as well.
* We never have a proper summer, only an Indian Summer, and it's been over 90 this weekend. Typically it's mid 60s in July and August.
