They were however exceptionally helpful when I was having chemo and feeling really ill, and when I badly broke my right ankle in 2019, coming round to fetch smokeless coal out my cellar, taking me to hosp appts and to shop. The boy used to chat endlessly to me as he played alone in the garden and I did a portrait painting of him as a Christmas present. It could all have just stayed nice, like it is with my other neighbour the other side. But no. It's such a shame.
