we got yet another Google device here, about to croak due to planned obsolescence 🙄
for the second time in two months, our Nest Thermostat is effectively self-bricked by stupid code ... after losing power for a day, you can't make changes in person or on the app due to "low battery" 6 hours after power resumed
(product isn't two years old, and soon our *wired* unit won't run due to a poorly designed BACKUP battery -- that's one way to force your customers to buy another one)
