The angle on these Vance “childless cat lady” comments that nobody is talking about is, it reveals his assumption that a person without children couldn’t possibly care about someone other than themselves. Like, according to Vance the only reason to care about children and others is if they’re in your family.
I’ve always felt that being on the left means that you actually care about everyone, even people you don’t know. We have a “stake” in everyone’s success and happiness, not just our kids’.
