A lot of rich detail behind this image. Published in 1935, the caption says that it is a photo of the Nitto Commercial Shipping Company taken one year after “reorganisation”.
The Nitto Commercial Shipping Co was established by Japanese merchant Otsubo Yoichi in 1910 as a co-operative, and then appears to have been corporatised after Otsubo’s death in 1932 - so the photo appears to have been taken in 1933.
