It is completely normal and appropriate to grieve the life you led -- and expected to lead -- before caregiving. Your pain is valid and you deserve support.

I gave up so much to care for my loved one who's living with dementia. Make no mistake... I would do it all again. As much as I mourn for my loved one's losses, | mourn for the loss of the life I'd expected to lead as well.
