Fishing with my buddy Kenn in Canada a few years ago, we drifted up on a weed bed. A big pike swiped at his lure at the bed. I paused the drift. He made a bunch of casts to the weeds, but could not get another strike.
For fun, I cast my lure about 20' wide of the weeds. The water exploded again, but this time she didn't miss. I caught what I am sure was his fish.
I still snicker about this.
