For my collection, the title came easily. It’s “And In An Instant All Was Dark”, which is a quote from Tam O’Shanter, my favourite “spooky” piece of Scots literature.
The stories themselves - some come right away. “Songs For Dead Children” fits so well and just “appeared”. Mahler’s Kindertotenlieder features in the story but it works on other levels.
Others I’m not sure about. I love my story about a woman bargaining with a Bean Sidh to spare her husband from cancer >
