And Java--I have long called the Java compiler "whiny." I understand the benefits of having your compiler validate everything it possibly can before runtime, but coming from dynamically typed languages like Python and JS, my reaction to compilation errors was often "You know what I meant!" Either that, or squinting at the error message: is that saying I'm assigning a String[] to a String? or the other way around?
But hey--at least Java compiles if you have an unused variable 😂
