The problem with hierarchical relationship models is that they are often used to ensure people "know their place" with a polycule and that whoever is at the top keeps control over everyone. However, it is possible to set boundaries where certain connections are, by necessity, given more priority over others without there being an imbalance of control or unethical practices in place.
