In the aftermath of Beryl, people still with no power, there’s a debate on FB about buried power lines vs strung on poles. The false answer is they are too expensive to bury. Yet in Mn, Tn, and Md we lived in neighborhoods with buried powerlines, and never had the power outages that we have seen in Houston. This storm it is easy to see the vast majority of damage to lines caused by fallen trees, and lines whipped by high winds. /1
