I wrote a routine to get the next available key. In Pick there is no way to get an automatically incrementing id ad so you need to roll it yourself.
The usual solution is to cache the ID somewhere in a CONTROL-FILE or inside the dictionary of the file.
I've elected to search the entire file for the greatest numeric key and then increment that by one to get the next available key.
